10 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT SANYA LOPEZ

When the new cast of Encantadia was announced, all eyes were on Kylie Padilla, Glaiza de Castro, Gabbi Garcia, and Sanya Lopez – the actresses picked to play the four Sang’gres. When Sanya’s name was announced, viewers and fans of the original Encantadia immediately wanted to know more about the talented and pretty lady who will bring to life the character Danaya, keeper of the jewel of the Earth. So to keep the momentum going, here’s a list of 10 things you probably don’t know about the promising newcomer:

1. Sanya watched episodes of the original Encantadia before auditioning. She didn’t know what character she would be auditioning for so she studied all the Encantadia characters before her audition. 

2. Sanya can relate to her character Danaya because they are both the youngest in the family and are both “palaban.”

3. Sanya says she is different from Danaya because Danaya has a “hard heart.”

4. If she wasn’t in showbiz Sanya would be taking up culinary arts. She likes to cook and dreams of becoming a chef. 

5. Sanya’s first TV gig was in Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman, handpicked by the late German Moreno himself. Sanya was also seen in The Half Sisters playing Lorna, the best friend of Barbie Forteza’s character.

6. Sanya admires the acting prowess of Jennylyn Mercado, someone a lot of people say she resembles.

7. A perfect day for Sanya would include eating out with her family. She is close to her family, especially to her grandmother.

8. Sanya likes collecting stuffed toys.

9. Her local showbiz crush is Dennis Trillo and in Hollywood, it is actor Zac Efron.

10. When she isn’t working Sanya likes to pamper herself – she enjoys going to the salon, and having facials and manicures.
